Tony is a freelance designer, illustrator and educator who has produced work for a number of national publications and businesses, most recently for the Southend-on-Sea based independent record label ‘Cool Thing’. In recent years he has developed a particular interest in appropriation, parody and the subversive as well as the commercial potential and application of design. As an illustrator who is often content driven, the rich lyrical material of Dury’s writing has provided a genuine stimulus which is further enhanced by Tony’s own life experiences reflecting many of the themes and locations evident in Ian’s work.
